I do believe I'm becoming a geetar-head

So on my hunt for a guitar of my own, I stumbled across this interesting specimen: the Gretsch G100 Synchromatic Archtop Acoustic. Ain't it pretty?

The one on the right has a sunburst finish - it also comes in natural and black. I personally like the sunburst the most :3 Here's a vid showing how it sounds.

Unfortunately, I most likely will not be getting this guitar, seeing as how it costs $700 (well, the black version costs $500 but that's still expensive and it's not as pretty). Also, archtops aren't as loud since they have f-holes instead of the regular round hole that the sound is projected out of - I think this is why they're more popular for blues and jazz. Seeing as how Imma mostly gonna be playing Green Day songs, I need something that goes RAAAAWWWWRRRR X3

...ok, so acoustics don't really go RAWR, but you get the point.

...well, maybe mine will - when I drop it on the ground -_-

*cough* Anyways, I still wanna try playing an archtop just to see how it feels/sounds, maybe they have one at mah local geetar shop. As long as I don't somehow break it and have to pay for it.

On a somewhat related note: Billie Joe Armstrong owns a Gretsch 6120 electric hollowbody. PURDY.

Edit: Oh wow, I suck at noticing things. The guitar on my guitar book is an archtop -_-

"Like giving a toy to a cat"

Heehee, this is why you don't link me things that let me create conflicts among fandoms :3
"Omgili Buzz Graphs let you measure and compare the Buzz of any term. The Buzz is the percentage of the term out of the total number of discussions Omgili covered on a specific date. You can also embed the Buzz Graph inside any web-page and monitor the buzz on a daily basis."
*rubs hands together* Alrighty, let's get started...

*ahem* First we compare a few well known bands. As you can see, Green Day is CLEARLY dominant (although they seem to be trailing off a bit at the end there but I won't get into that).

Now let's compare the bands by their frontmen...Billie Joe (apparently he's more well known as Billie Joe than as Billie Joe Armstrong) is doing battle with Bono, Gerard Way is holding steady with his share of crazed fangirls and Matthew Bellamy is still trying to claw his way into the hearts of females worldwide. Yes, these people will do anything they can to get attention, from dressing up as Japanese schoolgirls to being all humanitarian-y to dying their hair a nasty shade of pink to...being British and having a butt chin? :P

On a side note, I like this picture because it shows the dominance of Green Day over My Chemical Romance. (Now would be a good time to point out that I actually like MCR's music...they're just fun to pick on :3)

Now let's compare a few soccer team-dammit ManU...

*sigh* I suppose it's to be expected. I threw in David Beckham just to see how much hype one player could generate in comparison to a whole team.

The next one...is also to be expected...stupid Twilight... -_-

But I am happy to report that zombies still rank higher in popularity than vampires overall!

Btw if these descriptions make no sense compared to the graphs, I'd like to point out that it's cause they change over time...and therefore I'm not insane :P

Let me end this post with this thought: how many hits am I gonna get just because of making this post and throwing names everywhere? O_o

Noooommms

So while browsing around in my local Asian supermarket, I saw a 89 cent packet of agar jelly dessert mix and decided to try to make some nummy jelly dessert :3 Note that I picked up alla the ingredients at said supermarket:
(>^ o ^)> ~Lazy recipe time! ~ <(^ o ^<)
Almond Flavored Agar Jelly Dessert

Ingredients:
  • Agar Dessert Mix (link)
  • Can of Fruit Cocktail
  • Jar of Nata de Coco (link)
Instructions:
  1. Follow the instructions on the agar mix to make the jelly (this pretty much just involves mixing it with water and bringing it to boil)
  2. Pour the unset jelly into a mold and refrigerate until set. Note that you should really use a rubber, flexible mold here instead of the metal one I used...makes it easier to get the jelly out -_-
  3. After it's set, mix in the fruit cocktail and nata de coco
  4. At this point I decided to let it sit in the fridge for a while to cool - enjoy :3
Heh, I wonder if these instructions are actually useful...I took a pic but it didn't come out well >_>

Edit: Hah...I just found this webcomic. I think this is my favorite so far.

A considerate and responsible member of society

The irony here is that while I'm learning to play real guitar right-handed, I still can't play Rock Band on non-lefty mode.

Speaking of guitars, I'm learning to play my first song - Boulevard of Broken Dreams :D It's...it's gonna take a while before I'm actually good at it -_- Also doesn't help that I seem to lose my pick every time I put it down. I needa just get a whole pack of them -_-

Gogo DSi customization!

(>^ o ^)> ~Craptastic arts and crafts time! ~ <(^ o ^<)
Customizing your DS (or anything really)

Instructions:
  1. Find an image you like and print it out! Simple stencil-like ones are the best, e.g. this 21st Century Breakdown logo
  2. Get a sheet of acetate or some other clear/translucent material that you can easily peel tape off of
  3. Using a Sharpie, trace out the image onto the acetate
  4. Cover the tracing in masking tape. I used wide black masking tape so that the black'll blend in with my DS and so the image gets covered in as few strips of tape as possible - fewer overlap lines!
  5. Color the masking tape in whatever color your choose! I used a silver marker
  6. Figure out how you want to position your image and carefully note it down (esp. if your image comes in separate parts)
  7. Now flip over the acetate so you can see the lines on the back and cut out your image!
  8. Stick it on!
Why am I using so many exclamation marks?!?!*cough* Anyways, the good thing about using masking tape is that it's really easy to remove so you can de/re-customize at any time :D

...I spent too long on this -_-

EDIT: Ok, let's try explaining this again...click on the image -_-

Got it memorized?

But of course, Axel. But of course.

I kinda wanna try actually making sea salt ice cream though, lotsa people have come up with recipes already (e.g. this one. Also slightly worried about the raw egg component, but I guess that's to be expected with these ice cream recipes (if I get avian flu, I'll let ya know if it was worth it :P)

Still at the beginning of KH: 358/2 Days right now and the lack of Disney characters is quite...strange. It doesn't really feel like a Kingdom Hearts game until you run into annoying Disney characters who you really want to bash with your Keyblade but can't :D Ok, to be fair, some characters aren't bad...like...er...
